I went for the sherlo 6.4A unit. It has mains failover and needs a 18ah battery. Bought from sawyers, was about 600 I think. I also got a 4ch relay so I can control lights with a remote.

which one did you go with & price? I'm in need of a 12v buzz to power my router as well

I think the cheapest is the centurion one and it works. There was a bit of a struggle with batteries a few weeks ago but that might be sorted now.
Also you need to get the dc jacks, alternatively just chop them off your existing plug and connect to the battery.

Other option for routers are the mini ups. They come with the correct plugs and no cutting or fixing needed, simple plug and play. I’ve currently got my ONT, main router and 2nd router upstairs running off these. The prices have however gone up quite a bit when we had loadshedding. Literally went up to double

Stand corrected Sherlo is actually the cheapest option. There is one for around R450 as well without the relay. Battery size does not really matter on them as long as it’s 12v. Bigger will just last longer

So, got a puncture on Tuesday when I went into work. Then removed the front 2 Helios and fitted 2 of the standard 17s infront so I was able to atleast go into work yesterday day. The 17's are my winter wheels anyway, so I decided I will fit 2 new tyres on the other 2 17s today or tomorrow and then leave them on. 2 of the Helios have slight leaks and they need to be repaired anyway so I will do that at a later stage this year, so come spring/summer, they can be fitted again.

Have been meaning to have 2 new tyres fitted to the Sportline rims as I already fitted 2 tyres about 2 months ago then that set would also have 4 new wheels and fitting them on for winter again and putting the Helios in the garage again. Also need to have 2 of the Helios repaired properly as they have been problematic since I bought them (Secondhand set). But work has been absolutely crazy this past few weeks and I have not been able to do anything really. Hopefully I can do it later in the week.

Planning on taking leave the last week in June. Want to sort out a license plate for the Golf and the registration for the bakkie. Then gonna get a 5 speed gearbox and my nephew and I will drop the 4 speed box and fit the 5 speed box. I will then try to source a weber carb or sides for the bakkie and she should be driving properly then. Might look for a set of rims too. We see what the end of June brings.
