Gardening

Postby 8 valves » Mon May 11, 2020 10:35 am

So during lockdown I noticed a lot of people have taken up gardening.
Anyone here growing things?

I’ve personally been growing sweet potatoes, tomatoes, a lemon tree (which won’t get big) and onions.
This weekend I did a nice harvest of sweet potatoes. I’ve been harvesting a few every month for t last 3 months, however yesterday I removed half of the plant and harvested from the ground I want available for “other” plants which have just finished germination and gone into small pots before joining the garden

So let’s hear from others and see what everyone’s growing.

Lekker man, I’m also going to start with chilli, dhanya and other herbs. Tomatoes were growing too much and I ripped all of them lol.
Just read that the cold weather is not ideal for peppers so I’ll wait until warmer weather for that.

Forgot what strain of “other herbs “ I’ve got but my neighbor got them from Netherlands and it was quite potent. So hopefully it doesn’t go to waste.

Once sweet potatoes have cured I’ll do the custard move like you said. My ouma time ook die patat lmk

Pick them and leave them inside for a few days and they will turn red. Most likely getting too much sun

lekker jy, what you plant to get those?

I'm growing Cherry Tomatoes, Basil, Chillies and Mint.
First few tomatoes came before pwasa, basil and mint is plenty. I might startsmoking Basil leaves with Mint Tobacco if they dont lift the Cigg ban soon. :-)
Chillies, the tree is about 3 x months old now, so I expect some chillies soon.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda Civics with Spoon engines... and on top of that, he just went into Harry's and ordered three T66 turbos with NOS... and a Motec exhaust system...
